Dentures & Partials in Manchester, NH
Tooth loss is far too common these days and affects people of all ages. Tooth replacements like full and partial dentures are used increasingly because they’re an affordable solution and work well for many people.
If you no longer have all your natural teeth, or very few remaining, dentures replace your missing teeth and smile. In addition to helping you eat, a denture will help support sagging facial muscles for a more youthful appearance.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Dr. Russell Mann helps his Manchester, NH patients achieve a healthy, functional smile using full or partial dentures. Dr. Mann has also dedicated himself to studying and learning about implant dentistry, so he can also design beautiful implant dentures.

Dentures: Tooth Replacement for Patients of All Ages
When you think about dentures, do you assume that they’re predominantly worn by seniors age 65 and older?
Dentures aren’t exclusively for people of a certain age just because they’re strongly correlated with the older generation. Statistics indicate that of adults between the ages of 35 and 44, nearly 70 percent have lost at least one tooth due to severe tooth decay, gum disease, or trauma. One survey of 500 denture wearers showed that over 50 percent of them were aged 44 and younger.
Since they’re the easiest way to restore your smile, anyone who has missing teeth can get dentures. Regardless of your age, you’ll be happy to know that modern dentures are softer, lighter, and conform more snugly to the contours of your jaw. Working together, we will design natural-looking dentures that look as close to natural teeth as possible.

Types of Dentures in the 03102 Area
Contrary to what you might think, there’s not just one kind of denture. In fact, there are three main types of dentures – full dentures, partial dentures, and implant-supported dentures. Each works differently to accommodate the unique needs of the patient. However, the goal in every case is the same—provide strong, beautiful replacement teeth.
Confused about which type of denture might be right for you? Don’t be, as the differences are easy to understand.
Full Dentures Replace All Missing Teeth
If you have an entire row of missing teeth, then you will need to consider getting full dentures.
Full dentures replace all the teeth in a person’s mouth. They are a removable appliance that can be used to replace teeth in both the upper and lower jaws. Dr. Mann customizes your dentures using the most advanced materials available today so they closely resemble your natural gums and teeth. They are supported by the gums and soft tissues in the mouth and are sometimes called false teeth.
Full dentures have a gum-colored base made of comfortable acrylic that covers the roof of your mouth. When creating your new dentures, Dr. Mann takes a mold of your mouth and sends it to a dental lab that creates completely customized dentures that fit your mouth perfectly.
Partial Dentures Replace a Few Teeth
Removable partial dentures are for patients that are missing a few teeth, which creates gaps in their smile. When you have one or more teeth remaining in your upper or lower jaw, we customize a partial denture to replace the missing teeth. Like the full denture, a partial denture is made of acrylic plastic, porcelain, and metal. The metal holds the denture in the mouth by attaching to the existing teeth.
Since we design partial dentures to fill gaps in the tooth line, we customize them to fit in with existing teeth for support. We may use crowns, metal clasps, or attachments to keep partial dentures in place. Adding partial dentures to fill the gaps in your smile also helps keep your teeth from moving or shifting out of place.
Many of our Manchester, NH patients would like a more stable and permanent solution to replace missing teeth than dentures alone provide. If you have sufficient bone in your jaw to place dental implants and don’t have the financial resources for full implants, implant-supported dentures are an excellent alternative.
A regular denture rests on the gums, but an implant-supported denture is secured and stabilized by dental implants that have been surgically placed into the gums and jaw bone. Please visit our All on 4 page here.
Implant-Supported Dentures for Stability
For implant-supported dentures, Dr. Mann starts by surgically positioning several small implant screws into your jawbone. The implants are left to heal for several months, and the next step is for Dr. Mann to attach an abutment to them that holds your denture securely in place. The final step is to create your dentures and fit them onto the abutment, making them easily removable for daily cleaning.
Getting any one of these types of dentures doesn’t have to be a struggle with Dr. Mann. He can easily help you decide which kind of dentures are right for you. Call Man Family Dental to schedule an appointment for a dentures consultation with Dr. Mann.
Are Dental Implants a Better Option for You?
And while younger people do get dentures, they may not be the right choice for you. When you’re missing just a few teeth and want a more permanent, stable solution, Dr. Mann may recommend dental implants instead.
Dental implants are replacement teeth that we place surgically in your jaw. You can’t remove dental implant teeth, and they will stay securely in place. If your tooth loss is associated with advanced gum disease or tooth decay, however, there’s a chance that you don’t have enough bone in your jaw to support a dental implant.
Do you want to replace missing teeth but aren’t sure if dentures or dental implants are the best choices, schedule an appointment at our Manchester, NH dental office with Dr. Mann. He will evaluate your smile and explain which tooth replacement option he thinks is best in your case.
