Types of Sedation Dentistry
Sedation dentistry helps you relax during dental procedures. At Mann Family Dentistry in Manchester, NH, we offer three primary types of sedation dentistry:
- Nitrous Oxide: Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide provides a feeling of euphoria and takes the edge off any discomfort. This form of sedation allows you to remain conscious, but relaxed during treatment.
- Oral Sedation: Oral sedation provides relaxation employing a prescription strength pill taken the night before your appointment and again just before you arrive at our office. Oral sedation works for a variety of treatments. Many patients that choose this form of sedation dentistry relate feeling as though their appointment finishes in a flash!
- IV Sedation: Intravenous sedation is the deepest form of sedation. This option provides the deepest feeling of relaxation. Most patients enjoy a sleep-like environment for the duration of the procedure.
